Yottapocalypse
To anyone considering employing seacar as their artist...
Whether you need an original character drawn, your favorite video game main, your DnD campaign character, your anime OC, your comic book, grindhouse, '70s fantasy pinup—and everything in between—stop. Don't bother looking any further. Seacar is the penultimate artist, the very ideal of what a commissioner hopes to receive when dealing with an artist. Seacar communicates daily, and quickly, supplying the client with multiple updates throughout the process. The initial concept pencil sketch arrived less than 6 hours after placing the initial order. The entire character was complete less than 24 hours after that. The artist is professional in all aspects: communication, speed, efficiency, natural talent, eye for detail, and also style. As a personal fan of publications such as Tank Girl and Heavy Metal, Seacar's traditional, Roleplayer's Handbook style of drawing was perfectly suited to the type of character I needed drawn.
As a final word to anyone who may still be on the fence or who may not be able to choose between Seacar and another artist:
You may have noted that Seacar's location is based out of the Philippines (so note the time zone when working with this artist, as replies will typically arrive in the middle of the night if you are based in the Western hemisphere). While Japan and China often receive substantial amounts of attention for their artwork, in the past two decades the Philippines have become a hotbed for some of the most talented young artists that are, quite tragically, invisible to the West. Over the past year, I have personally employed 8 different artists from between the Philippines and Indonesia, and I will honestly say, that Philippino artists are some of the most talented, hardworking, and imaginative artists I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
Please give Seacar a chance. I realize Sketchmob is a relatively newer name in many Western countries, particularly the United States, and some of you may be nervous to pay artists through this site. I have made two purchases specifically through Sketchmob in the past year, and both went smoothly, quickly, and without incident. I wish this artist luck on his career and fully intend to work with him again if he is willing and available.
